Overview

Sunriver Resort’s Woodlands Golf Course is looking for a dedicated Irrigation Technician to join our team! The Irrigation Technician is responsible for providing a variety of skilled irrigation duties for the Sunriver Resort golf courses. They specialize in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair of the course irrigation systems. The Irrigation Technician will assist with maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards.

 

The Irrigation Technician will always conduct themselves in manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. Responsibilities

  • Ensures the golf course and surrounding areas receive the appropriate amount of daily and nightly irrigation, including Central Programming and hand watering
  • Repairs the irrigation system as needed, regarding heads, valves, and piping
  • Completes requests for irrigation and course parts and supplies
  • Maintains an appropriate inventory of irrigation parts and equipment
  • Supervises a small labor force for special projects, and perform other duties as directed by supervisor
  • Reports any irregularities in course turf quality or irrigation system irregularities to the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
  • Estimates time for projects as well as costs
  • Keeps work records and completes jobs from work orders
  • Performs irrigation installations
  • Assists with the design of irrigation systems
  • Diagnoses and trouble shoot problems with irrigation systems
  • Installs new irrigation systems on property
  • Manages daily work flow, schedules and special requests
  • Evaluates and services irrigation systems
  • Maintains a strong operable knowledge of controllers and valves
  • Contacts appropriate party if a guest problem is reported
  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort as s/he may come in contact with guests during their daily duties
  • Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act in absence of manager
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the Golf team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior landscaping experience preferred
  • Prior irrigation experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems preferred
  • Prior golf course experience preferred
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must have valid Oregon Driver’s license and meet company driving standards
  • Must be able to work with high level of autonmy
  • Must be able to work with power operated landscaping equipment
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (rain, sleet, ice, snow and heat)
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold & heat);
  • Must be able to stand  & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces;
  • Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs;
