We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Staff Accountant to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team!

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance the Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the hotel’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and supporting the hotel’s financial operations to maintain its 5-star standards.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and collections.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
• Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies to safeguard the hotel’s assets.
• Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other required filings.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Bachelor’s Degree: In Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced Degrees: Some positions may prefer or require a Master’s Degree for advanced expertise.
• Industry Experience: Proven experience as an accountant in the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Financial Management: Experience in managing daily financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and overseeing payroll.
• Accounting Principles: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of financial policies and regulations.
