The Complex Lead Massage Therapist supports both spa teams by delivering exceptional bodywork services, while also leading, mentoring, and coordinating therapist operations across both resort properties.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Complex Lead Massage Therapist is responsible for providing exceptional massage and body treatments while also supporting the overall performance of the massage therapy team at both Black Desert Resort and Red Mountain Resort. This role assists in training, protocol adherence, guest satisfaction, and scheduling coordination. The position requires reliable transportation between both properties and the ability to lead by example through service excellence and professional guidance.

 

Job Specifications:

 

Work Location: Black Desert Resort & Red Mountain Resort
Schedule: Year-Round / Full-Time
Pay Rate: $18/Hr + Commission + Service Charges. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors. With total compensation averages out to be around $34-$38/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, sports, prenatal) according to spa protocols and guest preferences.
  • Provide leadership and support to massage therapists at both locations, assisting with schedule coordination, onboarding, and technical training.
  • Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with licensing requirements, resort standards, and guest safety protocols.
  • Serve as lead therapist during shifts, helping oversee treatment flow and maintaining team performance during peak hours or in the absence of management.
  • Assist in maintaining treatment rooms, common spa spaces, equipment, and supply stock across both spas.
  • Respond to guest feedback and provide service recovery when necessary, escalating issues appropriately to spa management.
  • Educate guests about treatments, self-care recommendations, and retail products to enhance their wellness experience.
  • Use spa software to chart treatment notes, document guest preferences, and manage booking information.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, PPE, and OSHA guidelines. Report any concerns or equipment issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and punctual attendance, consistently representing the luxury values of both resorts.

Qualifications

  • Valid Utah Massage Therapy License (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional massage therapy experience, preferably in a luxury spa or resort setting
  • Previous experience in a leadership or trainer role strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in multiple modalities and comfort performing 4–6 treatments per day
  • Strong interpersonal and guest service skills; ability to guide and mentor team members
  • Familiarity with spa software (e.g., Mindbody, SpaSoft, Book4Time) preferred
  • Reliable transportation and flexible availability to work at both resort locations
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
