Overview

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of all banquet spaces in accordance with the event orders and hotel standards. This role supports the Banquet Captains, servers, and culinary team by ensuring all function spaces are clean, well-stocked, and ready for events. This is a physically demanding position that requires excellent attention to detail, teamwork, and time management. You will be an integral part of the team by excelling in consistently providing meeting products to the property’s clients, focusing on proper meeting set-ups, break downs, and configurations. Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms and outdoor event spaces per BEO (Banquet Event Order) specifications (tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, A/V, etc.).
  • Break down and reset banquet spaces after events in a timely and organized manner.
  • Ensure all banquet equipment is handled with care and returned to proper storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness of banquet and back-of-house areas, including removing trash, sweeping, vacuuming, and spot-cleaning.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, and transporting furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Communicate with the Banquet Captain and Event Managers to fulfill last-minute changes or needs.
  • Perform regular inventory checks of equipment and report damages or shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Support other departments (Housekeeping, Engineering, etc.) when needed to prepare for events.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality or events preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Flexibility with schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic; ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and stooping for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. frequently.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at varying heights.
  • Able to work in varying temperatures, including outdoor environments.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, carts, and equipment.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and meet physical demands throughout shift.
