As a Banquet Houseperson, you will be an integral part of the team by excelling in consistently providing meeting products to the property’s clients, focusing on proper meeting set-ups, break downs, and configurations while following the starndards of service as set by the hotel management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Properly clean and set meeting rooms and banquet functions per specifications on resume and BEOs or as given by FB Manager including vacuuming floors and cleaning walls and windows/mirrors.
  • Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor lecterns is required. Proper control and storage of meeting room supplies such as linen, pads, pens/pencils and candy, etc. are required.
  • Service every meeting room by emptying trash, removing dirty plates, cups, linens and glasses, and replace as necessary. Straighten all chairs. Replenish water requirements as specified or requested.
  • On a continuous basis, keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
  • Upon customer request, locate and deliver meeting material to designated location. Perform other duties as requested, such as moving furniture in and about the hotel

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow employees, set a positive example.
  • Provide the highest level of guest service to the hotel’s clients.
  • Maintain professional attire and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Implement the hotel’s safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following company’s OSHA program, safe lifting techniques.
  • Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to Supervisor.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to Supervisor.
  • Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  • Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude.
  • Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  • Continue to learn and grow in your position.
  • Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Assist person(s) with a disability.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws ordinances as they apply to the hotel, guest and employees.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Flexible. Must be able to work varied shifts, including Weekday Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly. Must be able to deliver a fun and friendly environment during each guest exchange.
  • Energetic. Must be able to work within an empowered and fast paced environment that services the bar and servers within the restaurant.
  • A qualified applicant is a “people person” who is flexible with their schedule, loves to serve others, and knows how to multi-task while ensuring accuracy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in Banquet Services preferred.
  • Hilton or similar branded, full service hotel experience preferred.
