Overview

You are part of The Woodlands Resort team that is empowered to provide exceptional stewarding operations within the kitchens and restaurants. You will work closely with others who, like you, are fully committed to ensuring that all spaces are clean, warm, welcoming, and encourage comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Lead and manage the Stewarding team in all aspects of the department and ensure standards are followed
  • Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
  • Manage all aspects of Contracted Labor (scheduling, invoicing, check distribution, etc)
  • Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Supervise and maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned daily
  • Oversee and schedule staff for the employee cafeteria
  • Attends BEO Meetings
  • Ensure all banquet event orders are reviewed and ensure proper set-ups are in place in a timely manner.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on shortages in china, silverware and equipment and requisition replacements as required while following budget guidelines
  • Work closely with the Chef, Director of Banquets/Catering to anticipate guest/group needs
  • Order and control all inventory of cleaning compounds and or chemicals needed
  • Work with Ecolab maintaining our dishwashing machines, sanitation dispensers and any other chemical dispensing stations
  • Manage the receiving and distribution of kitchen towels daily
  • Maintain clean and organize Stewarding storage areas.
  • Conduct walkthroughs prior to any major inspection. (Health Department & Ecosure)
  • Maintain the trash compactor area clean daily
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Coordinate all logistics for plated meals and buffet functions.
  • Ensure the staff is wearing the appropriate uniform.  Manage uninform inventory and plans purchase accordingly
  • Equipment research, maintenance and planning purchases.  
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  Ensure sanitation is a priority in the F&B areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience in a Stewarding department required
  • Strong knowledge in Sanitation and Food Safety
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area or 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.  
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
