Overview

The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for providing direct leadership to housekeepers to ensure the standards of cleanliness of the resort are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service. The Housekeeping Lead must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects/materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standards. They will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

The Housekeeping Lead shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. The Housekeeping Lead will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

  • Inspects resort units for quality
  • Performs unit cleaning services as needed
  • Assists housekeeping managers in the proper training and orientation of new housekeepers
  • Gives effective feedback to housekeepers to aid in their development
  • Transports housekeepers to and from units
  • Maintains a safe and pleasant work environment
  • Ensures service standards are being applied by all team members
  • Assists housekeeping manager with daily reports and MOD logs
  • Ensures supplies are properly stocked, assists with ordering supplies as necessary
  • Promotes high associate morale
  • Recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate of team members
  • Receives and dispatches service calls as necessary
  • Assists with the administrative responsibilities within the housekeeping department
  • Assists with the proper scheduling and work load disbursement of housekeepers
  • Provides guidance and motivation to housekeepers
  • Acts as a leader and positive example throughout the housekeeping department
  • Cleans and sanitizes all designated areas to Sunriver Resort standards
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons).
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied spaces. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised.
  • Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc. as needed
  • Clean wash basins, mirrors, and commodes showers as needed
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, etc.)
  • Maintains consistent and fair attitude in all associate interactions
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the housekeeping team
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least six months housekeeping experience required
  • At least six months supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must have valid Oregon Driver’s License and meet company driving standards
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to read and speak English
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must possesses excellent communication skills
  • Must have strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Must have basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the day, with intermittent periods of walking and stair climbing;
  • Must be able to lift 1-10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally and rarely 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently;  kneel or crawl occasionally ; infrequently climb a ladder
  • Must be able to work in a warm or cold environment, including walking outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat), with exposure to chemicals and dust.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements and simple grasping constantly; pushing & pulling, squeezing and overhead reaching frequently.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of and operate a vehicle occasionally
