Overview

As a Food Runner at our elevated dining restaurant, you play a key role in delivering a seamless and polished guest experience. You’ll ensure dishes are delivered promptly, correctly, and with grace, while maintaining communication between the kitchen and service team. This role is designed with growth in mind—ideal for someone eager to gain exposure across food & beverage operations and step into a utility player position, supporting hosts, bussers, or servers as needed. Responsibilities

  • Promptly and accurately deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests in the dining room

  • Ensure all plates are presented according to chef and restaurant standards

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure order accuracy and flow

  • Provide detailed knowledge of menu items when asked by guests or servers

  • Assist servers and bussers with table resets, clearing plates, and water/beverage service

  • Keep kitchen pass and service stations clean, organized, and stocked

  • Support host stand or bussing duties as needed during high-volume periods

  • Maintain awareness of pacing, timing, and guest needs to support a smooth service experience

  • Actively contribute to team energy and positive guest interactions

Qualifications

  • Previous food runner or hospitality experience in a fast-paced, full-service or fine dining restaurant preferred

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining poise under pressure

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support various roles as needed

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours per shift)

  • Must be able to lift and carry trays or plates up to 30 lbs

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting to support service duties

  • Must be comfortable moving quickly and navigating tight spaces in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments, depending on restaurant layout
