Overview

The Conference Services Manager at Black Desert Resort and Red Mountain Resort is responsible for planning and executing events, ensuring seamless coordination between departments, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role manages the logistics of group meetings, corporate retreats and special events, working closely with sales, catering, and operations teams to exceed client expectations. Reporting to the Director of Catering & Conference Services, the Conference Services Manager is a key liaison between clients and resort departments, ensuring flawless event execution.

 

Job Specifications:

 

Onsite: Black Desert Resort and Red Mountain Resort
Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time
Pay Rate: $65,000 - $75,000/yr., plus incentive program. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from contract signing through event completion.
  • Plan and execute group meetings, corporate retreats and social events, ensuring all details align with client expectations.
  • Communicate event requirements to internal departments, including catering, banquet, AV, housekeeping, and front office teams.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings and post-event follow-ups with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Oversee event logistics, including timelines, room setups, F&B service, and special requests.
  • Monitor and manage event budgets, ensuring accuracy in billing and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Handle on-site client requests, problem-solving any last-minute changes or challenges.
  • Work with sales and catering teams to enhance offerings and create custom event packages.
  • Maintain and update event management software, tracking event details and client preferences.
  • Represent Red Mountain Resort at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay informed about event trends, competitor offerings, and guest experience innovations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning, catering, or conference services within a resort, hotel, or luxury venue.
  • Strong understanding of event operations, banquet services, and meeting logistics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in event management software (Delphi strongly preferred), CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, guest-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
