The Group Sales Manager is responsible for maximizing group revenue for the hotel by proactively identifying, soliciting, and securing new group business opportunities. This role involves managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation and prospecting to contract negotiation, event execution, and post-event follow-up. The Group Sales Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, collaborate effectively with internal hotel departments, and contribute to the overall sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
• Proactively identify, solicit, and secure group business opportunities across corporate, association, and government markets.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, site visits, and personalized service.
• Prepare and present tailored proposals and contracts that align with client needs and hotel revenue goals.
• Collaborate with internal departments (catering/conference services, operations, accounting) to ensure seamless execution of group events.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline updates in the CRM system.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
• Represent Magnolia Omaha at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.
• Provide regular sales performance updates and insights to the Director of Sales.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel group sales or event sales, preferably in a full-service hotel environment.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and hotel sales software (e.g., Delphi).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering outstanding service.
• Flexibility to travel for client meetings and industry events as needed.
• Experience within the Omaha market is a plus!
Working Environment/Phyiscal Demands
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of town for client meetings, site inspections, and industry events.
• Ability to shift schedule based on the needs to the business and customer.
• Ability to lift and carry sales materials (e.g., brochures, presentation boards).
