Overview

The Banquet Houseman Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the seamless execution of all banquet and meeting room setups and breakdowns.
This position is responsible for supervising and training the Houseman team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and ensuring that all event spaces are prepared accurately and on time according to guest specifications and resort standards.
The supervisor also manages inventory and equipment, coordinates with other departments to support event logistics, and serves as a point of contact for last-minute changes or guest needs.
This role is essential in delivering exceptional service and creating a polished, welcoming environment for all events hosted at The Woodlands Resort.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Housemen during event setups, refreshes, and breakdowns.
  • Ensure all meeting spaces are clean, properly arranged, and meet guest specifications.
  • Assign daily tasks, manage schedules, and coordinate staff breaks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of function spaces and storage areas.
  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment; report shortages or damages.
  • Liaise with Banquet Captains and Event Managers to fulfill last-minute client requests.
  • Assist with basic AV setup and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Support resort sustainability efforts by minimizing waste and promoting recycling.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Act as a point of contact for guests during events and assist with service recovery.
  • Maintain daily logs and submit maintenance requests as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and hotel policies.
  • Participate in training, performance feedback, and reporting of staffing issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet or conference services.
  • Strong knowledge of room setups, equipment handling, and cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull moderate to heavy loads.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual a plus.
