Overview

The Islands of Islamorada luxury resort is a well-appointed enclave of 22 oceanfront villas, each offering four bedrooms, full kitchens, and outdoor recreation space. For smaller parties, The Islands offers eight one-bedroom hotel suites with ocean views. Open, airy, and light, this luxury hotel resonates with the splendor of its awe-inspired beachside setting. Located in the upper Keys, guests can drive, boat, or land by seaplane right outside our unique island sanctuary.

 

This position will supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Housekeeping staff ensuring that all procedures are completed to the established standards. This person will assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping team to uphold the resort’s service excellence.
  • Prepare and distribute task assignments and ensure all work aligns with our elevated standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, , pool deck, and service areas using detailed checklists.
  • Actively support team members to ensure peak efficiency and guest satisfaction during high-demand periods.
  • Identify departmental needs and effectively communicate tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain organized and efficient housekeeping storage spaces, ensuring stock and tools are readily available.
  • Perform and manage weekly inventory of guest and cleaning supplies; assist with monthly inventories of residence units and linens.
  • Ensure compliance with all departmental policies, health standards, and service protocols.
  • Act as a designated driver on select days, providing transportation support with safety and professionalism.
  • Elevate guest experience by maintaining a pristine, welcoming atmosphere throughout all areas of the property.

Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience in housekeeping or hospitality operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and sanitation requirements.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish — verbal, written, and non-verbal communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate property management and operational systems.
  • Skilled in coaching, team development, and performance feedback.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and guest confidentiality.
  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and remain active 6–8 hours per day.
  • Regular lifting, reaching, pulling, and carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including exposure to heat, humidity, wind, and rain.
  • Must have visual acuity to assess cleanliness and detail across a variety of spaces.
  • Environment includes moderate to high noise levels and occasional use of cleaning chemicals.
