Sunriver Resort is seeking a dynamic and driven Director of Catering to lead our wedding and social event sales efforts. This is a strategic, guest-facing position focused on business development, revenue generation, and maintaining Sunriver’s position as the premier destination for celebrations and social gatherings in the Pacific Northwest. The Director of Catering is responsible for cultivating strong client relationships, driving top-line revenue through proactive sales strategies, and overseeing all aspects of the wedding and social markets. This role does not include event execution but requires close collaboration with operations to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve quarterly and annual catering sales goals
  • Manage and maintain accurate catering forecasts, budgets, and financial reporting
  • Oversee the wedding and social market segments, including ownership of the Wedding Pace Report
  • Solicit and contract a wide range of catering events including weddings, galas, and social celebrations
  • Cultivate strong client relationships from inquiry through post-event follow-up
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop and implement social media campaigns, digital strategies, and promotional content to drive event inquiries
  • Conduct site tours and client meetings, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Attend and represent Sunriver Resort at industry-related events, networking opportunities, and wedding expos
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue-driving strategies within the social and local catering markets
  • Maintain high standards of guest service, professionalism, and responsiveness
  • Ensure all practices are compliant with OLCC regulations and resort policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in catering or social event sales with a strong record of achieving sales goals
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasting
  • Knowledge of sales systems such as Delphi and Springer-Miller preferred
  • Strong understanding of the wedding and social event market, industry trends, and sales cycles
  • Must be available to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends
  • Onsite role at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to work at outdoor locations on occasion, walking on uneven surfaces;
  • Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking or sitting, and occasional stair climbing;
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs with assistance;
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping frequently, and fine manipulation, repetitive hand & arm movements, squeezing & reaching occasionally.
